About Us
Who We Are
Redemption Outreach International (ROI) is a community-based, non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 2002. It began as a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to address the pressing issues faced by vulnerable populations, including the poor, sick, weak, and marginalized groups in communities throughout and beyond New York City.
Our Beginnings and Mission
In response to the alarming rates of various diseases and social challenges within New York’s minority communities, ROI collaborated with other organizations to launch a grassroots campaign aimed at tackling these issues. The primary tool for this initiative has been the dissemination of knowledge and information.
Our Work
Since its founding, ROI has played a pivotal role in empowering and mobilizing communities, individuals, and partner agencies to engage in disease prevention and awareness activities. ROI has been especially active in promoting faith-based organizations and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in these efforts. Its work has made a significant impact on disease prevention and education within the communities it serves.
Recognition and Support
In recognition of its efforts, ROI was awarded the New York City Council Award in both 2008 and 2009 for its outstanding contributions to AIDS prevention. The organization’s operations are funded through donations, grants, and fundraising events, supported by corporations, individual donors, and other benefactors.
Current Focus
Currently, ROI is focusing on youth mental health intervention projects, specifically targeting African communities in New York and Ogwashi Uku in Delta State, Nigeria.
